What custom knives have you ordered or purchased years ago that excited you, sparked your knife knutt passion and, brought you joy at first that have since faded into the back of the sock drawer with that original spark extinguished?

I'm not talking about knives that are substandard or defective. I mean the ones that are flawless or near flawless that you were so proud own months or years ago. Now, they mean nothing special to you.

My first one was a Mad Dog DSU2. I was so excited to get that knife and it was certainly a good one. After a couple of years it just sat in the back of the closet neglected and unloved. I eventually traded it away and, don't regret that choice one bit (I got my first Geno Denning knife in this trade

Every custom liner lock folder I ever purchased, in fact, every hand made folder I ever purchased except the Darrel Ralph Apogees, the Balisongs, and the Wood/Irie swing lock folders.

A Crain MCS (The one in Predator) I shelled out $850 up front, waited three years for it (was supposed to be three months) When I finally recieved it, I was so fed up, I hated that knife! Ended up selling it for HALF what I paid. Now I kinda wish I would've kept it though. It was a learning experience though.

Steve--I hadn't realized until now that you've never owned a Carson Model 4.

Two of those knives would certainly be of interest to me, GigOne. Could you elaborate a little on how you were disappointed?

For me it is my Terzuola ATCF. Great knife, absolutely flawless. With custom folders the only ones that really trip my trigger are Ralphs and Carsons. But I am still going to hold onto my Terzuola for sentimental reasons, for it was the first custom I ordered, first time I ever paid that much for a knife, first time I've had to wait that long for a knife. Not only that, first time I had to help dig the FedEx truck out of my front yard for they delivered the knife to me shortly after we had a big snowfall here one winter, and the guy took the corner too fast and slid into my yard. No kidding at all, I really had to do that!
