I'll second that. He made a nice one for my HI Kerambit, which can't be the easiest knife to make a sheath for.

:) I'm making a knife for a friend whose son is going to Irag. I just need something in kydex for a 5 inch utility/tactical clip point with a full tang and slab type handles. I'm just now getting ready to heat treat the blade and want to get a sheath maker lined up. I've never done any kydex and just don't have the time right now to try one myself. Looks like you guys have given me some good leads, I appreciate the information.

e-mail sent. There are a few things you can do to make the knife work better in kydex. Let me know if I can help. 479-736-3444

:) just wanted to give a little credit. I needed a kydex sheath for a soldier that is going to Irag. Tom Krein stepped up and offered to make the sheath (no charge I might add). Just got it back today and it looks great. Just wanted to give a public "Thank You".

Harv,
Thanks! :D I gotta say that I was curious about what the knife would look like as I was not familiar with Harv's work....and......I was impressed! Very nice knife. The tang was tappered down to next to nothing! Nice job Harv! The soldier getting this knife should be very happy!

Just got my Krein kydex hatchet sheath. Terrific- with tek-lock. Can be set up for right or left carry, and handle up or down.

Perfect job.

For top drawer fit & finish on kydex wares, check out the work of Brian Wagner at Okuden.
http://www.okuden.net/

Brian is obsessed with tuning the fit of the sheath to the knife until it's just right. The "click" as a knife seats in an Okuden sheath tells you that your baby's safe at home. Brian is not only a great craftsman, but is also a stand-up guy. Check out the forums here for testimonials from his other customers on the quality of his work.

Here are some links to pictures of Okuden sheaths:

This picture of a Nick Wheeler chopper and a Swamp Rat INFI Bandicoot shows that his quality translates well to any scale, whether he's putting kydex pants on big or little beasts.

(edit to add) Here's a pic of a special order sheath he made for me so I could carry on my knife a flat whistle, Firesteel, Sebertech mini-plier, and diamond sharpening rod. The outer "sleeve" that holds the tools is removable, leaving a standard kydex sheath for the knife.

Not trying to put the conversation OT but can you please tell me who made the knife sitting on top of the Nero Wolfe book? The one next to the 1911, those are some sweet lines...

Bubbacatfish, I believe that knife is made by Brian Wagner of Okuden himself. He makes both knives and kydex sheaths. Note the close similarity of that knife's handle shape to the fourth link down on the list, which is a truncated drop point utility knife from him.

Anybody know of a Kydex sheath maker in Canada?
You know the problems with Canada customs when the stuff comes back.....

Miden, Eric Noeldechen at On-Scene Tactical (recommended in post #3 above) is in Canada. I own a fair number of his taco-wrap style sheaths and appreciate the trim lines of his work.

Thanks RocJok, I tried clicking on the link and came up with a "webpage cannot be displayed" so I had no idea of where Eric is located. Do you maybe know how I can contact him?
Thanks and regards
