Custom Leatherman Bits?

I know that Leatherman makes a bit extender that accepts standard hex bits, but does anyone make custom Leatherman sized and shaped bits such as spanner security or tri-wing? I'd find this handy for getting into appliances that need repairs but have security screws.

-Thanks,

I was looking for the same thing, I wish they had smaller torx and security torx but I've never seen any. I ended up just making a bit adapter for standard hex bits out of an extension.

They could be made, it's just a matter of grinding down 2 sides on standard hex bits but I've never seen anyone sell them.

There was a guy on ebay who was selling that type of modified adapter a while back, and he'd done a fairly good job of making them.

I have so many adapters here that, like you, I'm making my own. The only difference is that I ground flats into the bit sleeve, so the !#!!@$!! thing won't roll off my bench. Once you remove enough material from the hex shaft, they roll around all over the place.

Yeah I've made 2 for mine and they have a bit of play but not enough to bother me. Good point on them rolling around, I hate when you set something down and it rolls all over the place. I may do what you did and put some flats in the sleeve, great idea.

Heres acouple pics of one I made. I had one adapter that was longer than the rest and it works perfect in my skeletool since I can use it when the tools closed. I notched both sides out for the spring to hold them in place.

No where near perfect but they work well for what I need. Looks kind of odd due to how the bit driver is angled on the skeletool but it's just the way the tool is.
