Hello gentleman,
I'm looking for a purpose made custom Machete, a real one, not some cheap 60$ piece of crap. I have been looking for one for the last 2 years and have been only able to find "cut from mild blank steel" types and I want something stronger that can hold an edge longer than that. RCH needs to be be at least 60-61, I have a budget of 2,000$ that I can spend. If anyone has any ideas of who I could turn to it would be greatly appreciated. Thank guys for the time.:D

I'm not looking for some wall hanger or something that is to look at. I want something made for ACTUAL use, heavy use at that.:D

Bill Siegle will gladly make you a machete for 2000.00.:D..any less you might have to wait awhile...

seriously though...you should have no problem on here finding a maker to provide a very, very nice machete for way less than your budget max....

If I can get a high quality tool that will stand up to heavy use cheaper than that, it would be just fine with me. Thanks for the info, I'm googling him now!

no, you wouldn't:)
look at the goloks under Java. They are incredibly strong performers and a good price. They are fully convex ground. I have three, and I've used them really hard with no failures. They take an edge easily enough and keep it:thumbup:

Check out Dave Farmer. Just bought a Dangerous Curves golok from him ... and I am extremely impressed.

oh yeah, Magnussen is doing some excellent work as well. Wildertools is the name he goes by.

and could make a heck of a machete/chopper...you would have to contact him though as I DO NOT know his backlog or if he would even take orders at this time...(however for your budget he may make an exception:) )

I cut down a dead 10" oak tree with one of his blades,,,however it was more substantial than a machete (5/16" thick stock) I recall seeing one machete he made that was 1/8" thick S3V steel...some VERY tough stuff...a blade made out of 5/32" or 3/16" in this same steel would make an indestructible machete/ chopper...properly used of course....

Kawanin, I cant find anyway to contact him, is he on here? The only thing I can find are resellers.

Two words: Tai Goo. He would be my first stop for an absolute cutting machine of a machette.
