Hi folks,

I've been wanting a sword for sometime, after much deliberation I've finally decided a roman gladius is the the one for me.

The sword I want made has to be a balanced, well heat treated functional weapon. Ie a 'real sword' which is also fairly historically accurate.

I would prefer a European based maker.

Any recommendations ?

The only people I'm aware of that make a high quality historically accurate gladius is the folks over Albion Armorers. There are some sword smith's that could do it for you as well. Patrick Barta comes to mind if you have deep pockets and lots of patience. There are probably others in Europe as well, but I can't think of any off hand that have a gladius as part of their regular line up.

The gladius is the new "in" sword since the new 300 came out!

EDIT: Oh wait, that's not a gladius

Arms and Armour could make you one I'm sure. Would probably be less expensive than albion, but they do great work.
