i thought i would post a picture of a knife i made last fall for a special person. chuck geyer made a real nice sheath for it. the steel is 1075 with neoprene slabs. its almost like the one i made for chuck but maybe a little bigger.

Very cool. I especially like the finger notch over the heel of the blade. Looks like it would offer spectacular control for fine work (in addition to good sheath retention :)). Is that a high convex grind?
 
its ever so slight a taper until the line you see from the flash and then it drops to the edge. here is a profile of the blade but its hard to tell much.

i talked to the guy i made this knife for. he skinned a deer with it and said its ready for a lot more. he has a hunting show on tv and i hope to see him use it on his show sometime.
