I have a project I want done and am having trouble finding a suitable maker.

The materials I want are a bit unusual: Black linen micarta scales with a shield made of Nacre, or mammoth ivory.

Two blades: Spear main and short wharncliffe secondary.

Length: 3.5-3.75"

Pattern: Something relatively straight and symmetrical (Think GEC 99) but I'm a bit flexible on this.

Jared Oeser was my first thought, but, that's not going to happen :) Same for Enrique Pena.

I've thought of Ken Coats, JD Ellis and Ken Erickson but can't find a way to contact them. Is Gene Wiseman still around for that matter?

I've contacted Hiroaki Ohta and Rick Menefee; Ohta san was not able to accommodate the shield I wanted and Mr. Menefee doesn't take orders for two-blade knives.

I'm aware of Todd Davison but for this knife I'm not looking for his style (no offense, I admire and own pieces from him!).

Can somebody help me out here?!

John Lloyd? He always seems willing to step outside his comfort zone.

David Taber, Jim Dunlap, Keith Johnson, Joe Allen also come to mind.

Mike Alsdorf builds a nice knife. He's made a slimline Trapper (3.5") with a clip blade and a short wharncliffe with a pearl inlay shield, I don't know if a spear main will fit in that handle style. He does wonderful inlays of various materials (interframes too).

I would also like to add Bill Kennedy to your look list! He makes some very fine knives with integral bolsters and pretty much any scale material.

Don't know if this thread is suitable for this sub forum.

Having said that, I would be happy to oblige. 😉

Shoot me an email and we could talk about it.

Andrew, thanks for the suggestions! I reached out to a few and I think Keith will be making something for me soon. Maybe a few others as well...

Definitely getting one of Mr. Alsdor's teardrop jack interframes, but not for this piece.

Will probably patronize Mr. Kennedy as well, but not for this one. Thanks Ernie!

Esnyx, thank you so much for the offer! I hope a little bit of creative materials use doesn't disqualify me from this sub, I love this sub and want to stay here :)
I'll send you an email when I have a bit of time to compose something comprehensible.
