Custom makers that carry knives made by others?

I personally carry one of my own even though I have some from other makers. I'm not really tickled with the one I'm carrying because it's just too small for big o mits. But when I get caught up on orders enough I'm going to try to make me two more. One that I can abuse & use for everything like the one I'm carring only a little bigger & one with all the bells & whistles to carry for dress, I've had several of those through the years but always end up selling them. I'm going to try to keep this next one, I've got a lot better idea of what I want my next nice one to be like & can make it accordingly. Take care & God bless all of you guys. Dwayne

I posted on the other tread too....I carry Spyderco´s and soon Terzuola folders....I have a hard time pic just one of my designs for myself...resulting in none...because when I have made a knife for my self I end up designing a new one I actually like better or with cooler material...Now I am at a stage where I have decided for at least one design...Blade allready made...One of my Sheepsfoot´s with mammoth ivory and in Damasteel Twist...

Sounds wonderful Jens. I've seen your work recently in other threads and it is top notch! With the materials you mention I'm sure you will have a jewel.

Dennis, why not post this in the shoptalk forum in case some of those guys don't see this thread? I'd be real curious to see what Bruce Evans carries, or Darrel or Kit or AT, etc etc, you get the picture!

I'm curious as well. And I'm also wondering if custom makers trade knives?

As a knife NUT, I'm drawn to custom knives (other makers) just like anyone else. Depending on cost, materials, design, etc. determines when and IF I carry them. I'm NOT afraid to USE a custom knife!!
This past week I worked an outage at our local power plant as a Millwright. My MT LCC was my trusty companion and was called upon for all kinds of nasty jobs. The posibility of loosing the knife was high so carrying a custom was out of the question.
Normally, on the weekends I carry one of my own Stellite fixed blades, hopefully to be used around salt water and fish
