I'm sure everyone in here has came up with there own manipulations. That's what I've been doing for the past few days. I just came up with one that I thought was pretty cool. I want to get yalls opinions on it. Also tell me if it has already been created. But anyways, here's the directions for it. Retaining the "safe" handle, flip the opposing handle up and away from you. When the handle hit's the back of your hand, flip it back around and have it come under your hand, having the blade land on the back of your hand. Then flip it back around, moving you thumb out of the was to acept the up-coming handle, into the ice pick grip with the cutting edge out. And that's it. So please test it out, if you can understand the way I discribed it, and tell me what you think. If anyone else want's share some of there own manipulations then you are more than welcome.

The latch drop, point of knife to outside ankle bone (through the sock version) is a personal favorite of mine (seated position). This is an aerial move of sorts as one must release the latch grip in order for the knife to make contact with the ankle bone. The beauty of this move is that a minimal amount of soft tissue is penetrated due to said contact with the ankle bone, thus limiting attendant blood loss. This move can be facilitated by the use of a light handled bali which will not allow as clean a latch drop as a heavier handled bali, resulting in an improved moment of uh-oh, just prior to the release.

Dang, I can't get that one. Everything's fine until I get to the "limiting attendant blood loss" part, and then everything goes downhill...:(

Only if you are doing it correctly, will you stab yourself in the foot.

Yeah, can we get a video clip of you performing this "trick"? :p

The hand movement is similar to a yo-yo. Put out your hand, palm down. Your thumb should be pressed up against the side of you indexfinger, this is where you hold the latch. Grip it with the sides of your thumb (right below fingernail) and the side/bottom of your index finger. Your fingers should be touching the sides of the latch only. I find it easier to put the safe handle towards you so it will swing down and away then up on the otherside of the bitehandle. Catch the bitehandle with you three other fingers in an ice pick grip. When mastered only the windmill can compete in speed. Hope this helps, probably not because this is the way I doi it, others might do it diferently or I'm a bad explainer. Well, good luck.

No, you're not paying attention. You don't stab yourself in the foot! You stab yourself in the ankle.

The latch drop, point of knife to outside ankle bone is an old favorite of mine. Although, over the years I've added some variation like top of the foot, or hyper-drop into thigh. All classics.

Try this... It's not a trick per say, but it's great when you can't make a lot of noise and want to test the balance of you bali. Start out doing a "spinning fan". That's rotating the safe handle in your hand as the blade and bite handle spin flat to each other (hence "spinning fan"), by forces or inertia. Continue doing this and feel how it rotates in your hand... the handle will be moving in a circle of sorts, aside from just rotating. Now shrink that imaginary circle just a bit until the blade begins to lift about 45 degrees. Hold that angle for a couple of seconds. Then make the circle smaller and the blade will stick straight up. Go back down and up again until you can do it with less effort. Rinse, repeat.

Grrrr. I tried making an ascii drawing of what I was talking about, but the forum software removes extra spacing.
