Hello everyone,

My first post will be a review of a folder I got a couple of days ago and I am still getting used to it.

The folder in question is a modded Spyderco Military - the handle is from a cheap Chinese clone, but the blade is made from CPM S90V and hardened to the optimum of 61.5 HRC (tested).

The blade is an absolute clone of the original one, the thickness behind the edge is about 0.5mm (or 0.02 inches).

Some pics:

The edge itself has 3 bevels - the first is 20 degrees inclusive, the second is 30 inclusive, and at last at the very edge - just a few strokes with the 3000 grit stone at 36 inclusive. Then diamond and CrO strops until it's shaving sharp. Here is a pic of the edge at 80x magnification:

What can I expect from this setup? What is the best way of sharpening this thing?

Sorry - didn't see that. Can someone with mod or admin access move the thread to its proper place?

This is a big place, maybe get a little more familiarized with the various sections.

Can I thin the edge down to 30 degrees inclusive? Would that hold for light to medium work?

On a FFG blade such as that, I would not put something that steep. No offense, but this is supposed to be YOUR review. Try it out and give us a review?
