Hope this is the right Forum for this, but I figured the 'Suspects' would have the most interest in this baby;)

This should be on it's way to me Tuesday (dang holidays!) from BF's own Bob Doggett. Mini-Commander plain edge satin #038 with a few modifications by Bob to my specs. Fine beadblast ti bolsters and beadblast clip, blue ano liners, green canvas micarta scales. I know it's not a 'true' Emerson custom (I wish), but still I'm pretty happy, and will be even happier when it arrives. I know Bob mainly likes working on his own creations, which are awesome, and I think this was kind of a favor, so don't deluge him with emails. But if you asked really, really nice, who knows:p

do bolsters go *over* the scales, or in place of?

also, how much would getting Ti bolsters on a minicomm cost? (not neccessarily from Bob Doggett, since i wouldn't want to burden him if he doesn't do it for business)

edit: i knew i should have gotten a satin blade and not a black.

Hawkins:

I believe the bolsters replace the front part of the scale. I have actually not seen it yet but here's another pic:D

Go ahead and email Bob, I think he kind of enjoys these small projects and he is a great person to deal with either way. And his own custom folders and fixed blades are really awesome:cool:

ah, great :)

i would, but a) i lack money. b) i'm still waiting for my minicomm to be delivered :) c) i'd rather it be done to a satin finished blade, not BT like what i'm getting.

but one day... :)

Sure seems like there's a market for customized mini-Commanders.

I know if I could get into one for about $300, I'd be happy.

Mike

Must stop drooling! The urge is to strong!

What a nice knife. I just got my new mini. Maby my next one will need to go in for a tune-up like that. Very cool.

Here's another pic;)

Now I just have to decide if I want to order a "Skull Clip" to make it complete!

Just for clarification, I have my own shop that I work in 99% of the time. Reese has a mill and a surface grinder that would fill my garage:) No one touches my knives, custom or conversion, but me;)

and he said he wasnt taking ANY orders, well thats just fine then :p :(

great looking blade!!!!

Well the USPS finally delivered it today, and really the pix don't do it justice:D

Here's another pic just so's I can brag:rolleyes:

BTW, anybody got one in damascus, Bob might be convinced to really dress one up;) ;) ;)

Thanks again Bob!
