Custom or original?

Hey guys and gals,

I was just wondering what is the best option do you think for a first HI product? Custom or original? There are some very pretty products around that don't seem to be run of the mill items or come up very often.

Get a few of their handmade production stuff like an Ang Khola or a Sirupati first, and then see what you like. Some people begin to develop preferences, such as some like the chiruwa, some prefer the lighter sirupati or kobra, some like the heavier Ang-khola and samsher... so save up money, look for Deal of the Days and eventually get a few to get an idea for what you want. If they don't fit you or you want a personalized kukuri (or Indian/Nepalese/other type of blade) just email Yangdu, I'm sure she can help you. :thumbup:
 
If you know what you want, then go for a custom.
If you're not sure, check the DOTD for ones that jump out at you. After a bit, you'll develop preferences and it may end up a regular production model is what you want, or you'll know what to specify in a custom.
