I've been thinking about ordering a custom pattern, I have no idea which maker. Looking for a knife with about a three inch blade, and a lanyard hole. Maybe 3 1/4" blade tops. I was looking at getting a Zulu with lanyard hole, maybe an LC. Must be a single blade obviously. I already have a couple Zulus and LCs from different makers. Any ideas are appreciated.

Gene Wiseman does a very cool unique LC with a lanyard hole. His prices are very reasonable as is his wait time. Todd Davison will also give you his own take on whatever style you ask for, and his craftsmanship is top notch. He has a very reasonable wait time as well.

A custom based on the Remington R1306 ticks all those boxes. Jerry Halfrich, Enrique Pēna, and several other well known makers would be my first choice for making such a pattern. Or you would wait until this fall and get the Case Bose collaboration Wilfred Hunter.

Jerry, that is one of my favorite patterns. I had a Camillus made Remington 1306 1990, 1303 1984 and still have a slipjoint Queen Mountain Man and a Camillus made Cold Steel Ozark Hunter. Just too large for what I'm after. Great design though, and I'm interested in the Case Bose collaborations for this year.

I gave my father in law a R1173L single blade lock back in 1983 that he still carries, but it's 3 1/2" closed.
