Custom Persistence Scales??

I have a Spyderco Persistence coming in on Wednesday and I remembered seeing an individual make custom Jade Green G-10 scales for his own Persistence. With that thought, I have a few questions:

-Where does one procure G-10 material and how much does it cost?
-Would it be wise to ask a custom knife maker to G-10 scales for me to ensure they are perfect and quality? I do not want to mess it all up if I did it myself
-How much would it cost for custom scales?

I know theres a guy on JD who works a lot with jade G10. I remember seeing glow in the dark material in the jade G10 and thought it was really cool.
