Hello forum. I am a long time watcher but I seldom post. I have particular tastes in knives and blades like everyone else. I carry many traditional folder from the last century. My personal favorite edc is the Case mini copperlock. Nice size and weight for me. What I detest is the clip blade, a blade I find next to worthless for my type of work. I know, other like it but I just cant get used to that style. For me a slender spear blade with double cut swedges, a long pull, and made of carbon steel makes me weak in the knees, and is about the most useful for my work around garage and field. Since I could wait forever for a manufacturer to make a similar sized lockback and Case I feel would not produce such a knife, I was mulling around the idea of having someone far more skilled than myself, make several desired blades and install them in a half dozen mini copperlocks. Does anyone in the forum know of a blade maker that could handle this small assignment? I have ordered one of Case's new Tribal lock knife but it is larger than I like and I don't care for the steel Case uses in this model. I have about another 20 years of hard living in me before I am reduced to sitting in my Lazy Boy relating tales of my youth to my grandsons, and I would like to have a knife I like in the last years.

Aside from browsing the knife maker Exchange as suggested above, you might browse at the online store owned by VCM3 He is a long time BF Dealer Member who specializes in selling custom traditional knives.

There are some models of the Case Tribal Lock made with carbon steel blades, their CV steel.

Thank for the suggestions. I visited VCM3'S website and my first thought was WOW. Stunning knives. If I simply carried a knife for light gentlemanly endeavors one of those would be like showing off a trophy wife, though they are too thick for me. I like the mini copperlock because it is thin and can barely be felt in the pocket. And my life is different. I use my pocket knives heavily. This year alone one copperlock is residing at the bottom of a 200' well and another is in a lake. Somewhere an old Case XX 6214 has taken a walk and has not returned this year as well. Been a bad year. My life leads to working a knife HARD. I have sent a message to glenbad. Being bored today, I took a 3 line Camillus TL 29 and made a new work knife. I took it apart, removed the locking screwdriver blade, transferred the knife blade to the screwdrivers blades position, reassembled it, and cut in an easy opener slot. I now have a locking spear bladed easy opener with a carbon steel blade. It is too large and bulky for town use but should fit well in my bib overalls I use when roofing, and mechanic work. Since it is half the knife it was I call it a TL 14 1/2.

If you’re that hard on em and often lose them , perhaps one of those single spear blade SAK’s fir 21 bucks maybe the wtg . Because hiring a fella to swap out blades that might be too costly too
