Custom Production Shop?

I keep going to the Emerson website hoping that the company store is open allowing me to order a custom production model of the Mach 1 with the aluminum handle and damascus blade as shown on the Blade cover.

Unfortunately, it still says "a couple of weeks". This has been for several months.

Can anyone enlighten me as to an expected date that this will be open?

I have been waiting for...well...a long time also. I can´t remember for how long. More than a year(?)...
I just don´t get why they post such a message on the site when nothing is even set up. I have almost given up all hope.
Derek; what´s the status? When can we order our Ti-bolstered, white micarta CQC-7´s???

Guys,

I don't remember wich thread it was, but I remember some time ago Derek said that that their then current webmaster had messed things up and they had basically fired them. They are just getting back into redoing the site with a new webmaster, and Derek said it is going to be pretty cool. See this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/000406.html. Hope this helps. Believe me, I am getting anxious too. In defense of Ernie, I think he was probably surprised at the popularity of his production knives and didn't expect the company to take up so much of his time, which is why things like his site have suffered lately. I think we have all put him between a rock and a hard place by expecting high output from both the custom shop and the company. I know if it was me, I too would be more focused on quality production than quantity, to protect my name. Does anyone disagree? (I come from a long line of business owners, so I guess this is the businessman in me coming out

I too am intreested in the production model of the Mach 1 with the aluminum handle with either damascus or 154 steel. I saw this also on the Blade magazine and can't get it out of my head. Any status?
