I own a LM '06 Wave, and have don't really care for the large flat tip screw driver, the can/bottle opener or the file. I was wondering if anybody knows if there are custom replacements for those items.

Thanks in advance.

Seems like there would be a good market for replacement or custom blades for Leatherman tools. Swap out a blade you don't want, exchange it for one that suits your needs better.

SOG offers some aftermarket blade options factory direct, but not Leatherman.

I'm curious as how the disassemblers of Leatherman's do it. How do they unscrew the security torx? Aren't those supposed to be one piece things? Won't they be breaking them? Or are they just tightly screwed ends that can be unscrewed if enough force is applied?

My Surge Ive taken apart a few times. Got the two security torxes at Ace Hardware. It uses a size they call T10H. Just secure your tool so your hands are free. Get 2 sockets and turn in opposite directions.

Same thing with the Charge. Except they got tricky, they put T10H on one side and another size on the other side. Need to go get that one soon.

Thanks s.serafin! I'm tempted to pull apart my wave and surge, but I'm afraid I won't be able to put it back together. Nah I'll just leave them as they are.

as far as the flat tip screwdriver is concerned, I just ground and sharpened mine down into an awl.
