Hey everybody. I've been considering a custom SAK for some time, and always enjoyed looking at those modded by Scibeer and available on Felinevet's store at SOSAK. There's only one listed on there right now...unfortunately not one I'd be interested in, now that I'm more ready to pull the trigger. I would greatly appreciate any information I could get on how to obtain a Soldier with scissors and a clip.

Thanks in advance for the help, and happy Father's Day!

Here is Bills (Scibeer) site: http://www.knifemods.com/

However the last I heard he still wasn't set up in his new workshop so I'm not sure if he is producing again. I may be out of date with that though so worth sending him a request.

Mike L. here on Bladeforums does some custom work. I'm not sure how extensive his modifcations are but it is worth asking him. I sent him a link to this thread so hopefully he'll chime in.

Jason, thanks again for the referral.
However, at this time I am neither qualified nor equipped to work on Alox models. The mods I do have been confined to the Cellidor scaled models.
SharpbyCoop or Scibeer are your best bets for work on Alox (aluminum) scaled knives.
Scibeer is somewhat "offline" currently. Maybe SharpbyCoop would be your man for something in the near future. Having seen his "old school" Soldier mods, I can tell you that his work is excellent.

Or maybe someone could send me a nice small drillpress?

Thanks for all of your help, guys. Just curious, Mike, have you ever tried modding a cellidor model with a clip of some sort? I'm not sure how it would work with the way the cellidor scales pop on and off, but I'm just curious. My ideal SAK would honestly be a Super Tinker with a deep carry clip.

I'm in exactly the same boat. the only Alox I've ever done was to add scissors to a Cadet but without easy access to a drillpress 93mm stuff is beyond me ATM. :(

AlphaBrass01, I have not (yet) tried to put a clip on a Swiss Army Knife of any description. There doesn't seem to be much material on a stock knife to tap into. Again, I have no drillpress, so precise drilling and tapping is beyond me at this time. I would be reluctant to just use self-tapping screws in the Cellidor.
I don't think it would be reliable in the long run. Others may disagree.

Seems I had a senior moment and got my "Coops" mixed up.
SharpbyCoop is a (most excellent) photographer of knives, etc.

The guy you want is "KnifeCoop" who can be found at http://www.knifecooperative.com/

I am not affiliated with him in any way, but merely suggesting him as a possible source for the mod you want. :)

putting together a soldier with scissors does seem to be the easiest alox mod. I noticed the backspring for the blade and awl is almost if not exactly the same thickness as a pair of scissors. you would have to get two soldiers and a pair of scissors from another knife. drilling out the hole in the scissors to match the size of the hole in the soldier may be a little difficult as well. The clip i have never tried so i can offer no advice on that.

Hello, Thanks for the referral Mike L. No problem for scissors on the alox soldier. In fact have a couple on hand. Just PM

No problemo. I am basically a hobbyist who does mods on Cellidor models. I can make decent knives with non-factory tool combinations, for instance, adding a saw to a Compact. But your work is on a whole different level.
Gotta love those "old school" Soldiers!
