Sent my custom sar rat off to get a sheath made and it arrived -one rat. Told it was sealed and everything!! Going to the PO tommorrow to find out what's up. Sure I had it insured, but still it might not be too easy to replace.

beefangusbef,

Hope for the best. I have had some odd things happen with the post office and to date they worked out in the end - but they are a wierd organization.

Went to the post office today, nothing. Got a form to fill for the insurance claim. Anyone ever done one? Eric, sent you an e-mail if you could get back to me. I need a reciept stating its "value". Thanks!

There it is on the bottom. It's status has now been changed to officially gone. Poof! With dissapearing acts like that it must be in show biz now....

Hi Beef,

I know we've had our disagreement's over on the politics forum, but hey, who doesn't have disagreements over politics and religion!? On knives I hope we are on the same page as we are at least on the same knife section of Blade Forums. On that note I really do feel for you over losing that knife though, as I just recently got a 'normal' SAR never mind the beauty you have. So I hope you get it back or are suitably recompensed for it, and on that note surely your insurance should cover what it is worth now, not what you paid for it. Hope it all works out well for you.

Slainte,

Rab

Damn I'm sorry to hear about this. I hope they take care of the cost, and I hope that you are able to find one to replace it.

I had this happen with a Sage Flyrod that's no longer made. I had to find an old Catalogue with the rod pictured with price. I got the Retail $,but it took about 90 days or so.
I was trying to do a trade with another rod,so I had to send the one I was intrested in back,as my end fell through.
Frustrating,to be sure!
Alex

I don't think the PO will even let you file a claim until it has been missing for 30 days and if they have a delivery confirmation that a package was delivered they may not accept a claim at all. Good luck. I had a knife stolen that was insured but the PO said the package was delivered so they claim it is no longer their responsibility. It didn't matter that they couldn't provide any signature of who signed for that insured delivered package.

Yeah thanks. The lady who I talked to said you only had to wait to file a claim if it had never been delivered. If it was delivered empty I could file right away. Maybe since it's on post they'll be more understanding, fingers crossed!
