Hey guys, this is my first post so I'm not sure if I am in the right place. I know this area is for making knives, and I'm simply customizing an existing one, so please let me know if there is a better place to post this.
I recently traded for a large Benchmade Spike 650. It's old and used, but it's a classic and I'd like to treat it nicely.

The plan is to replace the black titanium handles with solid iron wood. I think it would really add a classy touch to the blade. I have planned everything out and I have the materials, but I still have one problem. The blade has one body screw and three pocket clip screws. All of this hardware threads directly into the right handle scale, meaning threads will need to be cut into the new wood scales. What I can's seem to figure out is what tap I need to buy in order to make this work.
I do know that the body screw and the pocket clip screws have the same pitch and diameter as each other, so I only need the measurements of one. Does anyone have info on the screws used in this model? And if not, is there some way I could figure out the pitch of the threads? I'm kind of lost on how to determine all of those things.
Note: The closest I have have gotten to finding something is a 0-80 tap, and using a 3/64" drill bit. Does that sound correct at all?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks guys!
