Wanted a little more bulk and texture so I made up a few sets out of G10. They feel amazing and completely change the feel of the knife. Also added a bit of glow on the 2 for around camp at night. What do you guys think of my first attempts at handles?

After I added the glow and made a kydex lined leather sheath for it

Those are sweet!!! Great thinking.

Did you find the G10 hard to work with? How did you 'work' it? What thickness did you use?

What/How did you do the 'GLOW' mod? Details please!!!

Yes the G10 was somewhat hard to work with. The G10 was 1/4 inch to start out with. It is super hard to cut but sands pretty well. I went through a few scroll saw blades before i gave up and used a diamond saw blade to cut them as close as possible. It make a lot of dust which is hazordus to inhale so a respirator is a necessity. I also used a shop vac near the cutting edge to help pick up the dust while I was cutting it. Once it was pretty close to shape I used my belt sander with 120 grit to takes it all the way to the final shape. I taped the tang and made sure to not scratch the finish on the steel. Then I took the tape off and then hand sanded it with 120 to get perfectly even woth the knife. I then used my drill press with a small drum sander on it to do the contours. Then went over all of it with 160 to even out everything. Last I drilled the holes to fill in with epoxy that I mixed glow powder into. After the epoxy dried I sanded back over all of it once more to remove any epoxy that got outside the holes. It was a learning experience and having the right power tools makes it quite a bit easier.

Nice, I have found a small cutting wheel on a dremel works pretty good to cut the g10. Grinding bits on a dremel work amazing for contours n such.

A small cutting wheel would probably work fine on thinner stuff but the G10 I used wad 1/4 inch thick so I probably would have broke quite a few trying to cut it. I actually burned up a dremell trying to do heavy cutting tasks with it to often
