i saw on another forum someone had a sebenza 21 with a custom orange g10 scale. does anyone know who does this?

Barry H makes great scales, I have an orange one and I love it. Its the regular/21 combo. If you want a custom scale, I have seen none better than Barry H.

Hey guys! Thanks for posting pictures of your knives. Glad to hear that you are still enjoying them.:D

Barry H is the best when it comes to making scales. He inspired me to give it a try. This was my first attempt and I learned a lot dealing with G10, where I made my mistakes and how to correct them. Will make another in due time with orange and green and blue G10 or green and black (cant remember what I have lying around).

marthinus,

Thats an awsome job, especially for your first try. Keep up the great work and be sure to post pics of the different colors and designs you try, we would all love to see.:thumbup:

Thanks for the kind words guys.

My main concern was that the pivot hole was not perfect and when I screwed the G10 down it affected the lockup way more then I felt comfortable with. After some trial and error I realized that since the pivot hole was not perfect it pushed just skew of the side of the pivot bushing and therefore on the bronze washer. I know where I went wrong and when I try again my approach will be different and hopefully I will not repeat any mistakes and get it as perfect as possible.

still, it looks awesome. just don't open it with someone around ;)
Fantastic work

Barry's scales are awesome. I have a red scale on my EDC large regular.

Great stuff. I highly recommend Barry.

what did you use to file the pattern on the g-10?

Sorry I mist this! I used a normal round file with a diameter of 1cm. I fixed the g10 into a bourd with three nails through the holes so that it would not move and then I just started filing. This was the easiest part IMO to do!

I no longer have that scale. I was experimenting with it to get it thinner but alas I made it to thin. The screws do not hold the scale any more so its loose. But now I know. It has been a great experimenting process and I will do it again. Only better next time.
