Custom Sheath Makers?

Alright, it's been a long time since I've posted here, but my blade interest is being re-piqued ... my concerns over self-defense have been quite raised since 9/11.

Alright, my first question -- can anyone recommend a custom sheath maker? I know there have been posts about this, but I coudln't find any!! I would love some sort of system that allows me to do a downward draw on my right side (resulting in a reverse grip, immediately deployed), but I usually wear khakis and a button-down shirt to work; I don't know how *this* particular way would work.

That being the case, my preference would probably be IWB (at the small of my back). I used to own a Camillus boot knife that I wore IWB, and it simply disappeared when I tucked a shirt in around it. That knife has long since disappeared , but I now have a Benchmade Nimravus Cub that might work well in this application.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback!

I know, intellectually, that I should be as specific as possible with my questions, to get the best and most appropriate answer. Then I type up my posts, and COMPLETELY forget to be specific.

Being that this sheath will most probably spend a good amount of time next to my skin, I would say Xytel/Concealex is the best bet. I don't know that leather would work very well in that circumstance.

Normark's Concealex sheaths are extremely versatile and able to accommodate virtually any style of carry. My F1 rig with his sheath is very discreet. Good guy to deal with, too.

And Normark can do something for you without you sendign your Nimravus. I think he has the blade on hand so you can keep your blade while he does his work.

If Concealex/Kydex is your thing, my highest recommendation is Normark. Eric does excellent work and he is a great guy. And he's a forumite. Check out his site and cruise the forums for posts by satisfied customers. Me included :) http://www.mnsi.net/~nbtnoel/

Robert at www.survivalsheath.com is very good - I've had a couple of shoulder harnesses/kydex drawpoint systems made up for knives of mine - good quality work and very professional looking rigs...

John.

I've just recieved sheaths from both Normark & Mike at River City...
They both do excellent work. I'm hardpressed to pick between them for my next project :)
