Custom Shop AD - info request

Can any of you older Hogs out there (or even the Hogmeister himself) enlighten me regarding this little gem? It is double cut and has linen Micarta handles. Color is something I have never seen, however. Very similar to green linen, only it is not green - more tan and brown tones. Jerry, if you see this, can you please chip in as to what color this was? When did it become available? Thanks!!!

Its the same thing that is on these thre Busse's, old style green linen. Dont know when it came out or when they changed to the new stuff.

These pix seem to show the handles differently... If they are accurate, it is old school green linen, as Garth stated in the last thread. Well, looks like I was wrong! :o Nice score!

Your welcome nowsaHOG, but do me one favor, I really like your handle mods and think they are some of the best I have seen but please leave this one alone.:thumbup:;)
 
That logo is also the old-styled logo. I don't know for sure, but my sense is that they reserve that logo for knives that originally had the logo, but which go to the Custom Shop for a re-furb and they need to re-apply the logo. I know it is still around, but I have not seen it on anything "new" from Busse in quite some time.
 
The original AD email offering (with the SS) was sent out on 11.3.2002. The first 150 were available for $237, $267 regular price.
Your's would have been available off the website "two weeks" after that. :D

Is the logo on this AD the same as they used on the SFNOLE's?

Yup, they sure are. You can probably tell I've never had an SFNOLE. :o I have my user SFNO and that has always been the only SFNO I've needed. I guess there might be other "newer" blades out there with this logo as well. You'll find that as you age, a lot more gets by you than when you were younger. :(
