Ordered two custom 110's back on the 4th and IIRC the order stated something along the lines of 4-6 weeks for production. I'm fine with that and realize that every order is different but was just wondering if anyone else has receieved an order recently and if so how long did it take from order date to knife in hand? TIA

I don't think any of mine ever took more than 4 weeks, if that. However, may take a bit longer this time of year.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to have them in time for Christmas and doubt that will be a problem but was just curious as to what the time frame has been of late?

This may be a stupid question, but . . .

By Buck Custom 110, do you mean the ones where you have a couple of options for blade, handle, etc, or is it more complicated than that?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. You build your knife based on blade, scale and bolster options.

Right now there may be a lot of last minute orders by people who want to take a new Custom hunting this year......thus there's probably a backlog.

This would probably be the busiest time of the year, I'd guess.

The only way you'd get anything quick is if they happened to have what you ordered in stock due to a return, mistake, or whatever reason.

My choices aren't something I've seen posted here before so I imagine it will take the full amount of time. Hopefully they'll look as good in hand as I think they did on the site. Actually one of them was made up with my wife offering suggestions over my shoulder. Not sure I'll give it to her but I'll let her hold it now and then if she asks nicely.

Oh, you should give it to her!!! Anything that will help lock her into the syndrome will be a good investment.

:D

Yes, unusual orders have little chance of getting back fast.

I have seen knives come back in just a few days. I never could understand this, since Buck denies stockpiling even commonly requested Custom configurations, but it could be explained by returns or by orders that are canceled after the knife is in the process of being made or other mistakes (communications, perhaps) that result in a Custom knife being there (or there and not quite done) without a buyer.

A month or so is a good guess for your order.

It's worth the wait.

I can't remember the exact dates but last year around this time or maybe even later I ordered two custom knives and it only took 3-4 weeks I believe, and that included getting them shipped to me in Canada. I just remember I got them a couple weeks earlier than expected, although that was last year.

WooHoo! Got an email that my order shipped and will be here Friday. Right at 20 days from order placement to shipping. Gonna be a long week.

So, are you going to give your wife one?? :p

I ordered one earlier this year and it was in my hands in less than a month. It's my new EDC when I wear jeans with a belt for the leather sheath. My other EDC is a large Vantage Pro for when I wear my pants that has a belt already sewed into them.

We'll see. She appreciates knives but more from a visual standpoint than how it's made, what materials were used, lock style, intended use, etc. Plus, as I've been told many a time, "What's hers is hers and what's mine is hers" so actually "giving" her one may be moot. :D

Just happened to be at home for lunch at the same time the BBT arrived. OK, it wasn't so much a coincidence as it was continuous checking of the tracking number and an hour lunch than turned into 90 minutes. I'm pretty damn happy let me tell you. Can't quite make out the last name on the certification card but I'll like to give a big shout out and a job well done to Richard in the Custom Shop. I'm going to save the pics for the SPS but will leave you all with these images which represent some but not all of the features on these two beauties:

S30V
jigged water buffalo
nickle
finger grooves
indigo
420HC

My only regret is that I haven't ordered from the custom shop before this. In closing I'd like to add

I LOVE YOU BUCK KNIVES

Congratulations!! Looking forward to seeing that new custom 110 on the SPS.

I've been working on improving my knife photography skills this week. Not nearly as good as most I see, but I'm thinking you may see a little improvement from me over last Sunday. Gonna show my two main EDC's this week.

I think that name would be Richard Rishel, could be wrong .

Yep, I think that's it. His signature is more legible than my own but the RI in Rishel looked to me like something and U. Either way he did a wonderful job on my order!
