Received the custom shop rodent trail yesterday. Very thankful to get it with Blade upon us!

Not so much of a trailing point, but I love this setup for a field knife. Very subtle differences from the Rodent Solution which may not make sense to some but work well enough for me that I'm happy to pay the difference to get them. Full 4" blade, thinner .170" stock thickness, FFG and drop point on a 'Solution handle. This is the blade I so much wanted the 4" HC to be.

Relieved the shoulder a bit, and began work on the edge to get it to suit me

Comparison shot sandwiched between RS and RT

Drop point overlaying the Trailing point

Grip shots........

Next three taken without moving grip position to show handle size and handle in relation to open hand

If it were in Andy or Rob's hands there'd be some pictures taken to do it justice. A professional photographer I am not! :D But the blade is fit and finished beautifully and I can't wait to put it to use. Cheers!

Awesome knife bud, love it! Like a king size solution!!

Looks like you got a mean edge on her too

I LOVE that !!!!! The RT has never blown my skirt up but the RS does, thatis just beautiful mate !!!!!!!!!!!! You may have forced me to get onto the Swamp Shop and chase one..!!!

If you want to send it out for an extended visit I am happy to send you some pics back of its travels (nothing wrong with your pics mate, just some geed red Aussie dirt in the bacground would look good as well) ... ;) ;)

Many thanks gentlemen! With the self-done modifications I did to the last RT I know I'm really going to like this one as it had everything I wanted done straight from the shop.

Andy I'd almost take you up on that just to see it with a big black fallow buck, mate! And then maybe Elof could slap some leather on it. :) I'm pretty sure he doesn't have this one on hand, and that may be the first time I've ever been able to say that! :) :D

It turned out great!
Wit that extra bit of blade, flat grind and thinner stock it must be a great utility blade.

If you send now, it might even get a Andy's photo session on Ian's truck... :)
And I'm sure a set of leather pants could be arranged ;)

I always thought the RS was to handle heavy, where is the balance on that? Great blade btw, I'm sure many people will contact the Custom Shop because of those pics...

I had better hand deliver it to OZ. Getting to see all that steel in the back of Ian's rig would be well worth the price of admission

Snapped a pic for you Matt. RS and this RT mod are indeed both handle-heavy. It does have a nice solid feel to it, though, without being quite as stout as the RS. It could possibly benefit from lighter scales (these are G10) or a skeletonized tang, a service the custom shop does not offer.

Thanks for the pic! Hmmmmmmm if I have some spare cash after the next Scrapyard release I may have to contact the Custom shop...

Looks great! I've far fewer fixed blades these days, but ordering something like that is tempting.

Reaffirms that a rodent trail is the knife missing from my set up. Sweet post, thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. And Josh if you helped with this one, double thanks

Hopefully there's a blank left in the custom shop, because if so there's going to be another in tan canvas coming my way.
