As far as I can tell, these all follow the same format and only the handle materials differ from each knife?

Am I missing anything, or is there a reason they're called "Custom shop?"

Thanks.

Correct. It's a mid tech ff kephart stainless blade with a custom handle in place of the bolt on micarta handle.

Thanks for clarifying. Mid tech makes sense.

Can anyone comment on Fiddleback's production blades? Obviously this is a biased place to ask, but I value any input.

I have several mid tech Fiddlebacks. Hiking Buddy, Kephart, and Bushfinger. I have used them hard including batoning with them all. The s35vn is good steel. Mine all hold a great edge. That said, I still prefer a2, 01, and 8670 because I love me some good patina. But IMO you can't go wrong with a custom shop Kephart.

Custom shop are mid tech with Andy Roy handle work. Good value. No issues after many years of use across models.

I love a nice patina as well. Life of the steel.

This thread should have been called "tell us which knife you want without telling us." :)

Custom Shop Fiddlebacks are made with MidTech blades from Crucible CPM S35VN or 3V on the Camp. They'll outlast you and are easy to sharpen. In their CS form they are the Fiddleback best of both worlds in Stainless, so while care is required, not the level of Carbon Steel A/O.

I agree 100%. The custom shop gives one an Andy Roy custom handle with a stainless steel (except for the Camp Knife) that is more capable across multiple environments due to resisting the elements better.

Put away wet or forgotten about for months, used every day - all in all, I've been very pleased with the models I've kept from this line.
