I already have a NMFSHLE and i have two CGNMFSH's on order and i am seriously thinking about letting Garth have his way with them before they leave Ohio for the flight to Norway, Is anybody having something done to their knifes?? they are both black with black paper.. If someone has any black blades with mods on them i would love to see some pictures.

I would also like suggestions on what mods you guys think will look good on the NMFSH.. And Garth if you are reading this, what mods would you like to do??
I have been thinking maybe one nuclear and one flying nuclear  AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH This is driving me nuts. decisions decisions decisions decisions :barf::D:eek:
So what do you guys think???

I was kinda thinking about custom shop on the NMFSH as well. One thing I was wanting to see is a recurve. Only thing keeping me from that is the balance. I don't want to lose any blade weight. I think it would feel wrong if the blade was lightened any. Maybe a little LB treatment then a recurve.

I've wanted a custom NMFSH. Personally I'd like a bigger drop on the point so that it looks more like a bullet or leaf shape. I also prefer the look and feel of the squarish choil on the TG instead of the standard round choils. I got it on my NMFBM.

Pretty sure it would still look awesome on a NMFSH.

Full disclosure, I don't have a NMFSH, but if I got a custom one, those are the changes I'd get--from all the reviews and reports, even though it sounds huge and heavy, it seems to be really practical, so I wouldn't change the thickness or grind.

Edit: Also, wood scales. Of course!

I would suggest, a partially sharpen spine with serrations near the ricasso to be shure you can cut fabric and rope without fancy ninja moves, a two color machined scales: paper black bolsters/and tan/blak body.

I dont think you could choose this, but I´d go for .32 thick, saber grind with a concave bleeder or whater busse named the long slot the TGLB has...and make it satin, with your last name on the spine at the handle, to make shure your grandchildren dont get confused.

Can anyone give me an Idea how much over factory price are Custom Shop prices?...I never got an answer from the shop...I´m assuming it depends on the knife the´d be doing but I´d like an idea.

tks.

I don't want to change the grind but a partially sharpened spine with serrations near the ricasso Hmmmm It looks good in my head, have you seen any pics of this??

For me nothing beats the look of a nuclear ground spine with teeth. I am partial to recurves as well.

There really is not a generic answer that works. It depends on the size of the knife, the type of grind, the modifications you want, and the handle material. A lot of the customizing we do can only be done by a few people at the shop and it can take lots of time depending on what you have in mind.

Hmmm i have been browsing the Custom Shop gallery tonight for some inspiration and i think i have landed on one flying nuclear clip point and one nuclear clip point, what do you think about that combined with a black blade?

If you got the combination you wanted;CG model I would not modify anything this knife is well balanced and the look is excellent,...Satin version maybe I would go with Garth's suggestion "nuclear ground spine with teeth", that would be awesome.

Well there are 2 ways to Lennox. We can coat the blade and then do the spine work which leaves a satin look to the nuclear grind or we can do the grinding and then coat the blade so only the teeth would have a satin look. Both look great but personally I like to coat everything and only have the teeth uncoated. Gives it more of a stealth look in my opinion.

Garth

I have the satin LE version but i can't bring myself to do anything to that one... I have this picture in my head of a black blade with shiny infi teeth that just won't go away.. :D

Yeah i agree on coating the blade so only the teeth would have a satin look, i'll send Lexi an email tomorrow and have her change my order and set the blanks aside for you to put them on the grinder:D I am thinking about adding a recurve also but i have to sleep on it, Do you think doing this will affect the balance much??
