Forgive the cell phone photos.

My new Buck 110 G10 with satin 420HC drop point blade and nickle silver bolsters just arrived. It took 4 weeks to process the order from the custom shop which is faster than I had anticipated. I really like the full belly on this drop point. The blade is absent the nail nick and the clean lines and shape remind me of a fixed blade. I recently picked up a Copper & Clad 110 Rosewood drop point and I should have taken a photo of the two side by side. Besides the nail nick the blade shape is noticeably different. Really like the look and feel of the G10 scales. I just can't seem to put this one down. I think the Buck custom shop really hit it out of the ball park!

That is real nice. I was thinking of asking my wife to get me a NS G10 S30V for Christmas and looking at that beauty makes me think even harder about it.

Yup. Nearly pulled the trigger on this same exact configuration several times.

I love the lack of the nail nick. Love it.

I have a real fondness for Micarta. I like the visual depth of it and it's one of the things I really enjoy about my older 500.

When I think of G10, I think a) textured and solid (like saw cut Delrin sort of) and b) dull (as in lack of any sheen).

Your cell phone picture makes it look the G10 has depth (not texture) and sheen (not dull). Could you clarify or comment?

That is beautiful. I want to try the G-10 myself. I just got my custom 110 yesterday after about six weeks. OP, how is the pivot on yours. Mine is very, very tight. Smooth, but almost to the point of being hard to open. Never came across this on a 110 before and was wondering how yours was.

Pinnah,

The G10 is polished smooth and has depth as you describe. It is also has a sheen. You can feel slight texture on the edge of the bevel of the scale on the back strap if that makes sense.

JD,

Mine is smooth and not difficult or stiff when opening. I have a Copper and Clad 110 that is new and feels like it has more tension and requires more effort to open.

That's really a great looking knife! I've done the same configuration numerous times. I just can't seem to buy a custom shop knife without upgraded steel. I'm holding out for a drop point S30V, but will probably settle for the clip.

This is so helpful. Thanks!!

And I love that blade shape. I'm getting one. Just a matter of time.

I received my custom shop 110 last week. Just like yours except also with finger grooves. Sweet!!!
