Custom shop question

I have searched the forums but I did not find the answer to my question. So here is a seperate thread for it.



What is the usual wait time for a custom production knife from Emerson? I was intrested in the damascus bladed commnader with the adonized titanium liners.

I found a thread that was started about a month ago that had people waitng for years for their custom knives. Is it worth the wait? Should I save up now o spend the money on other things instead of locking so much money in a blade i may never see for years?
 
I can't speak for other people, but I believe that the customs that they are waiting for are by Emerson himself. As far as the production shop goes, I'm not so sure, I would email Derek or someone else at Emerson to get the scoop.

The custom productions vary quite a bit on delivery time. A knife like you describe is not "too" long a wait. I woulnd't feel comfortable quoting you a time because anything that I said would be a complete guess.

There are some of the CP orders that are strung out quite a ways. The bolstered knives are the onse that are proving to be the most difficult.

This hopefully clears thing up a bit, not much I know, but a bit.
 
Yeah, kinda figured the longest wait was for knives by Ernie himself.Thanks for the replies.
 
How's it going jj? Hope your enjoying the knife I sold you (Starmate?).

I'm waiting for a Damascus Commander myself with anodized liners and green G-10. Should be well worth the wait! Like Derek said, your order can get bogged down bigtime when you start ordering the bolstered stuff.

We won't have nearly the wait.
 
The starmate is suberb! I just have'nt brought myself to using it though. It is admired alot though.
 
My wait for the Custom CQC8 is in the forth year running...when is my turn?:( Sigh....

Snag your self a SureFire / CQC-8 combo to hold you over!
 
Take Kwaikens advice and buy the cqc8 combo. If your custom cqc8 finally gets finished, I will take the cqc8 package free of charge from you as a favour from a friend. Hows that sound? :)

Dang!.... I was hoping you would take kwakeins advice and maybe be a good Santa Claus ...
