I just got this second beauty in from Jur (thanks bro ). I think these came from the same show, but wanted to get a little history on them. Does anyone remember --- were these both from BladeWest a few years ago? Which year?

One is a double cut blade with desert ironwood and sheephorn scales. The other is satin finish (originally double cut) blade with ??? black and white g-10? I really don't know what the scales are...

Here are the pics:

Those are some beauties, congrats on getting both of them. I honestly can not remember which show these came from ( actually an Extravaganza after a show) I thought it was maybe a Knob Creek show but now after looking through my pics I think you may be right that it was Blade West.

Here is all I've found so far, more pics of them ;)

Sorry I can't be of more help

Maybe Troy remembers

Aaah, those bring back some memories...Blade West 2005
Those were 2 of 7 customs sold there. It's good to see them reunited. :D

The black one is black G10 and beater green G10.
I don't recall what the liner was made of.

NICE KNIVES!!!

xaman, that rams horn RW is a jaw dropper. I see you've chosen to keep it minty fresh and I can't say I blame you, again it's beautiful.

Those might be two of the top two most collectible Swamp Rat knives I know of and now you have them both.

WAY TO GO XAMAN!!!

The handles definitely feel different than the current runs of G10, so I wasn't positive once I saw your reply, Rat. But I found the original descriptions...

"Ratweiler $298.95

SR-101 blade with Beater Green G-10 bolsters and black G-10 handles. Double Cut Blade finish."

And the Sheep Horn one...

"Ratweiler $358.95

Both [Ratweiler and Rat Hunter] are SR-101 steel with Sheep Horn and Desert Iron Wood. The horn handles were left in their natural state on the face where they meet the blade in order to preserve as much of the horn’s character as possible. It makes the blade look as though it is growing out of the horn itself. Double Cut blade finish."

Those were a sweet batch of customs. I wish that I could have afforded to keep one for myself. :)

:D :D

Sweet score Eli! That's for sure a beautiful RW set!

Ah, I stand corrected. I must have been thinking of some other knife that had the MP45 on the handles. they are some sweet knives.

Awesome, that helps a lot. Thanks Troy!

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I still think they need to actually open a Swamp Rat custom shop for special orders

Awesome, Eli! I thought long and hard ('course, all thinking is hard for me) about that one from Jurt. I'm glad you got it. Sweet pair!

Yup, got my Ratweiler that Saturday and got to coonfinger those two...:D

Dang, was that 2 years ago??? :o

:D

I think the Black and Yellow ratweiler has been all around the world! I got it from Randucci, (from Wash. state to Ohio) and then traded it to Molletta, in Italy. And I'm sure it's had a handful of owners since then. I hope it finds the right home soon. LOL!

I was going to say she's definitely home for good (in Texas now...) --- but I have had to eat those words before

At the very least she's enjoying a nice stay

okay, i may regret asking this --- but what does coonfinger mean??? :)

You're a brave man, Eli. According to online sources, it means to examine an item one has no intent or financial means to purchase. Possibly borne of a racist slur but maybe not the intent in the post.

Geez, why did I google "coonfinger" from a work PC??!

First time I ever heard that expression was from fellow forumite Kerry Hampton. He said So "my friends can chicken eye and coon finger it".
meaning see touch and feel a knife.
