This may seem crazy to some, but has anyone shortened a NMSFNO to the SFNO length?
I have purchased many (currently around 100) Busses in the last 6 months and I have settled on the SFNO as my favorite. I have several and can't help but think it would be my perfect knife if it was just a little thicker. I would love to have a sabre SFNO in the .25 range, but from what I can tell they incredibly rare and were called a magnum sfno. I have contacted the custom shop to check on the blank size for the SFNO and they aren't ground down and so I would end up with something in the .22 range like the rest of my SFNOs.
So....I have a half dozen or so NMSFNOs around and although none of them are sabre ground I am contemplating sending one in to the shop to be shortened to the SFNO length.
I know it is a sin to do this to a perfectly good NMSFNO.
I know I am gaining very little in thickness.
It is what I want and I am going to do it regardless so I am not looking for anyone to talk me out of it.
Any information and or pictures would be appreciated.
