So I just found out the shop is closed then I went on this forum to look up something and saw the sticky about the shop is closed and it says three to five years. In October it will be three years. Any updates? A link to get notifications about it opening the books again? Thanks in advance!

Oh! Well you know what happens when you forget not to ask a question you don't really want the answer to! Guess I'll dry up and blow away again. Happy hogging all y'all!

Custom shop is still making a boatload of knives just not taking orders. Not posting specifics here, but I her tell there were a ton of flipper orders and common customers couldn't get in for the backlog. One thing Randall made knives limits orders so that it keeps that kind of thing down (their wait time is still 5 years, if you thought 2 weeks was bad.. )

I do know that a certain seller has continued to list new Customs on a continuing basis. How he is getting a seemingly unlimited supply of Custom Shop knives, I still haven't figured out.

That's why the cs is backlogged...
....... that may be partially so but have you ever been to show Busse attended / KC or blade ? It was well known that the bottom feeder to which you refer also attended and bought up lots of CS blades that were unsold at the end of the show. That is why his proliferation of unusual CS blades.

If the CS is closed to new orders it is still possible that they are backlogged with 10s/100s/1000s of old orders from before they closed. Plus what Andy said, which I have witnessed a few years ago at Knob Creek.

I heard a few rumors. One was Luke Ang bought them to jack up prices . Another was that many of them were going to be flipped in China and bossman didn't like that

If you have looked closely, this certain seller has continually listed for sale newer CS models (i.e. OP2WKs blades that weren't around when Busse was still attending K.C. Etc....). Specifically, I have seen CS OP2WKS blades being sold even before the Blade Show and Busse didn't even really sell at this last Bladeshow. So he is continually getting new shipments from CS, even newer Blade models.

Sure wouldn't mind being able to order a few CS knives directly.

........ grab bags, from OP2W, they seemed to contain a fair proportion of CS blades as well. Nothing stopping him from ordering a number of the GBs when they were offered.
