Does anyone know if Buck is considering adding the 119 to their custom shoppe lineup? I know many people that love this venerable knife, and would probably want to see one offered with different handle materials, blade steels etc without having to hunt for the special editions in select stores. I think this offering would do very well...probably on par with their 110s.

That is a very timely question, that is currently being discussed in a number of diffrent threads here. But the short answer to your question, to the best of everyone's knowledge here, is "no." But we all are trying to bring pressure on the powers to be to add more models to the custom shop line-up. Join the effort!!

The 119 looks a little stubby. How about the 120 instead?

We need a more impressive looking knife for a custom.

;)

I say why not both? When my son is old enough to own such a knife, I am going to give him my 119...which was my first real knife...and it'd be nice to have a fancied up replacement.

The 120 started out as an optional blade length for the 119...Other lengths were available as well... :)

I'd like to see that line/option offered again...A "119" in several blade lengths, perhaps from 5" to 12"...:thumbup:

Maybe a limited run in the black phenolic grips and 420C steel, in a length of your choice, just to see how much interest there is...*Then* go to work on the Custom options... :D

jskatzoman,

Just buy the dress-up 119BR - in brass fg and pommel - and cocobolo handle. Naw, I bought one 'as a user'... it started a collection of 'BR' lookers - had to go to Wally World for a regular 119!
