That wood looks like some cherished antique furniture, really beautiful burl:thumbup:

The knife itself has splendid proportions, although myself, I don't care for that type of shield. But it's the customer's desire.
 
Oh man....Todd those scales just look fantastic, That knife is going to make someone VERY, VERY happy.
 
I grew up in South Texas where there are many mesquite trees. Had one in the backyard that my father disliked when it drop its pods as they have very hard sharp points on them. Mesquite is the only hardwood I BBQ with. The interior wood is often red with veins of golden yellow. It also makes some beautiful handles! Gorgeous knife! The new owner will be very happy!
