Hi all, I'm knew to the forums but I've been here a few times through searching various things. I am hoping someone can tell me something about Custom Delicas.

I was at a cowboy type store here in Hawaii when I noticed a stainless handled Delica with a silver and gold? raised etching/ bas relief sculpted western scene (hill with two men on horses at the top) and a combo edge.

Needless to say it was beautiful and I haven't seen anything like it online. It was on sale for $175 but I have some concerns:

Is this even worth it?
It came with a regular Spyderco black/red box with bubble wrap BUT there was no Edge-ucation paper that all my spydies have come with.
The blade was marked with VG-10 and Seki City Japan as it should.
The sculpting had two shallow, thin 2 centimeter scratches in it.

Is this a real Delica? And how much should I ask them to bring it down to (since it's missing papers and has 2 scratches)

If anyone can help me out here that would be great. I just don't want to spend that much on something that could possibly be fake anyways. I may be out at that shop again tomorrow so I hope someone could lend me any kind of advice to authenticating this blade.

Thank you very much

The missing Edge-u-cation sheet merely means it came from the time before they included it, or that it's lost. No big deal either way.

There's no reason to assume that it's not a real Delica.

However, it did not come from the factory with that engraving. The Delica (and other stainless steel handled Spydercos) are popular platforms for engraving or embellishments. By your description it might be something from Windy Ridge Designs, but that's just a guess.

Thanks for clearing some of that up I really appreciate it.
