Gang- A.G. Russell's Sting got the ball rolling with my interest with knives. I love the design. Well, A.G. just gave me Permission to have a custom Sting made for me by a favorite maker. It turns out that the Sting is this makers all-time favorite boot knife design too. This Sting will have a twist to it though. Stay tuned.

Back in the 80's, Charles Weiss made me one with Maroon Micarta. I gave to a police chief as a gift. Time to get another.
 
Remember them well..........the ad for pre-ordering those was on the same page A.G. was doing pre-orders for the original Gerber Paul Knives........got two of each, still have one of the Paul's with it's leather sheath.

Wish I still had those Sting's....one burgundy Micarta, the other in green Micarta. :cool:

My brother has my Rosewood Sting. My BF has my Red Rucarta Sting. What the hell was I thinking?
 
That was ALWAYS my favorite boot knife pattern too. Spoke to A.G. about them last year at Blade. They have been VERY successful for A.G. over the years resulting in new versions.

Have to say I am a big fan of stings myself. only have a crkt production version... have to say for a handle so small you can really get a good grip on the thing.
