Okay, I have an odd request: is anyone interested in making a custom straight-razor? What I'm looking for is something for general use, and use in the woods. The "in-the-woods" part means the knife must be easy to keep clean, especially with the chance of infection from small nicks. As such, the blade needs to be able to take heat up to 212 degrees F, without losing it's heat-treatment. Does anyone know of a steel (or other material, for that matter) that can take a razor edge, yet not be harmed by this? All I can think of is ceramic (I actually posted this topic previously, as some of you may remember), but have been told there is no way anything short of a factory can work with it. The handle would be a Ti integral lock, but I'm not worried about that. So, the question boils down to: can such a blade can be made or not?
