At least thats what I am told it looks like.
This is a throwing spike I just made from O1 tool steel, for the 2001 World knife throwing championship in Phoenix next week. 12" long, 1/2" round stock. Free hand grind. (Balanced on an 1/8" drill bit)
I plan on blueing these. I need to know how to get a reliable 45-50rc on this steel if someone knows

That's pretty neat but I thought a Shuriken was the 'throwing star'???? To get 01 to spring temper takes about 900` and will give you a nice 'fire blue'.........I'd soak it for 30-45 minutes at temperature then thermally cycle it in cold water and do this tempering thing 2-3 times for toughness.

That is indeed a beautiful shuriken (throwing stars are technically "shaken" meaning "wheeled blade" and are a subset of shuriken), but I thought the IKTA rules specifically prohibit using shuriken/spikes.
