Hey everyone, I considering going down the custom traditionals rabbit hole and I was wondering what your suggestions were on some recommended makers. :)

Many custom makers of the slipjoint world have a dedicated thread here. Browsing those threads will tell you alot about the "style" of every single maker, and give you a good basis for your decision :)

I have had a few from some really talented makers. The one I have kept is a Zulu from J Oeser. The other two, one was a front pocket, a very nice blade I wish I would have kept. Then, an EO jack, again, wish I would've kept it. All of them had synthetic scales. They were CPM154 and ATS34.

Then again, good old 52100, 1095 and O1 are some great steel choices. Check out my group Slipjoint Addict, and take a gander at all of the threads devoted to individual knife makers here. Lots of talented makers out there. Of course, Tony Bose is the best maker out there in my opinion, but it might be a little tough to get a knife. Unless your name gets called at the Blade show.

I found that I had hit a snag with my custom fixed blade orders, I had ordered a ton of Kephart fixed blades. My favorite pattern. I sold off most of my Kepharts except for those from Scott Gossman and J Neilson. Now, I am looking at placing some custom slipjoint orders, but I already have one custom Zulu, and two Case Tribal Spears. I also have a Case Lannys clip. Unless you want to collect just one pattern, I think you'll need a little variety. Thankfully, most of these guys, and a few gals, are interested in bringing back old patterns.
