Just picked up this beauty from an old friend Karl Schroen, a maker from Sebastapol, Ca. Hand-forged utility knife in S420V (S90V) with Cocobolo handles. Blade's 3.25" overall 7.5".
Very nice, the figuring in that cocobolo is very distint and beautiful. That knife is about the perfect big game skinner. What kind of grind does it have? The rounded spine and convex edge make it appear to be a full convex grind but the way the glare bounces off of it and the grind lines look kind of like a hollow grind.
Hi NM, it's actually lightly hollow ground with a secondary bevel at something like 20/20, maybe less. And sorry about the glare! Just sliced some turkey pieces for lunch and it's really sharp!

In the lower photo with the blade on the right, the whorl near the butt of the handle looks like a rose blossom. That is a beautiful knife, so simple and elegant. The cocobolo and brass look very good together.
