Custom Western style sheaths?

For nearly two years (see this thread for good reading: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/788889-Tell-me-about-this-Buck-sheath?highlight=tell+sheaths), I have been using one of these custom sheaths (mostly for trail riding and barn work) and I can't say enough good things about it. This sheath was built for use and built to last. It has seen everything from rain to horse lather and it refuses to lose its shape or integrity. At first the sheath was stiff and bulky, but after a several coats of Neatsfoot oil, Bick 4 conditioner, and a little sweat, the leather has relaxed, still maintains a perfect fit for the knife, and has taken on a rich, dark saddle tan color.

My question is, does anyone (Joe?) know who made these sheaths? Buck factory? Local saddle shop? Were they U.S. made?

Thanks!

Thanks ed. I'd just like to know more about these great sheaths.

ed,

Free feel to post a photo of your 120 sheath. I'd like to keep this thread alive until I get my answer. Surely someone knows where these sheaths were made.

I have one of those sheaths for a 500. They were supplied by Buck I believe, but not sure who made them?

Peter

Very nice, ed. Do you know what year your custom sheath was made?

Thanks for posting!

Sorry, no I don't know as the knife was an eBay buy. The knife is a late 80's model, I believe.
