Could you fine folks please post pics of any custom Wharncliffe Whittlers that you have? I have got it into my head that I want one made for when I get out of massage therapy school in 2 years. But...... I want it my way:eek:

By that I am looking for something similar to a Case Seahorse, with a small spey blade, small hook blade,...... and a punch like my Vic. Electrician. i have some musk ox horn I would like to be used, and ideally I would want a Damasteel/ damascus main blade and a different steel for each of the other blades (hopefully one carbon and one stainless).

So basically I would like this:

I see the Wharnie blade being on the same side as the punch, and the spey being thinner than the hook blade. Thus I would have a thicker straight blade, very thin rounded spey, a hook for point and concave edge, and the punch as a scraper and drill.

I know I am being difficult but- hey this is a once in a lifetime excuse, I would be able to carry it at work and have it pretty enough to use and versatile enough for most tasks. The Musk ox looks great in conjunction with damascus and is very tough for an EDC, as well as being not common.
The handle shape, and varying steel types are not as important, but this is ideal.

If anybody suggests a maker that may undertake this it would be greatly appreciated as well.

Easy- right???

A couple of my favorites.

And one by Richard Rogers (based on a 55 pattern). (That is a slab of Rhodochosite in the background, looks better than a towel :D)

I think there are some excellent makers who hang around BFC that I would contact to see if they wanted to make your knife.

Sounds like you would have a one of a kind whittler! This is one that I made up and sold a while back. As a matter of fact my one and only whittler to date. Good luck on your project.

Gus,

That MOP Rogers is a wonderful knife! So very clean!

Hey Ken - how do you inlay your shields? Do you use a 2 legged parser? or something more modern?

Cheers,
D

Here's one I made a few years ago, Have an Ivory handled one like it on the bench right now for a customer. Dwayne

Hey Kerry, that knife looks awfully familiar. (I kinda miss her though I love the sowbelly I received in exchange.)

Kerry, tell whoever owns that beautiful buffalo horn whittler that I'll trade'm my 04 Tahoe for it, plus a bottle of fine bourbon. Whoops...take that back...I just drank all the bourbon.

You shoulda made me the offer before I traded it to fasteddie. :p

I have been using a rotary tool with a dental burr. I have read with interest the tread with photos on the 2 legged parser. VERY interesting.

Blues... You traded off a Belly ?

I traded that very nice buffalo horn scaled whittler (above) for the brown jigged bone sowbelly I now own. Both great knives by Reese Bose but fortunately Eddie had what I wanted (sowbelly) and I had what he wanted (whittler).

The best trades are when both parties walk away happy.

Oh, so you gained a Sowbelly, you can't go wrong when you gain the best pattern there is
