Custom work on Ka-bar?

Alright, I'm ordering a regular Ka-bar (w/leather handle). I'm thinking about having the following done:

1. Shaving off the hilt on the spine-side of the blade, so it looks like the new Next. Gen. model for a better grip. Anybody know what company can do this?

2. Sending it to TOPS Knives (if possible) or another company (suggestions are welcome) for some linen micarta handles w/ finger grooves. I've seen this done before and thought it was absolutely fantastic.

3. Send it off to Survival Sheath Systems and get a new OD Kydex sheath built for it.

Any other suggestions, comments, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Phil

Why don't you just order a custom knife.By the time you spend the money, all you will really have is a custom Ka-Bar.Just my .02

Honestly? Seems like it'll be cheaper this way.

I really like the blade design on the Ka-bar, and there's no way I can afford a $300 knife that I'll be beating the hell out of.

I'd love a Strider or a Chris Reeve GB, but like I said - I can't afford to shell out that kind of money for something I run the risk of loseing, breaking, etc.

Contact a friend of mine.He may do the work for you.
