I have an old 110 Folding Hunter that I received as a birthday present back in 1980. It's in top condition, however I would like to have the handle streamlined along the lines of the Buck Slimline series. Who do I need to contact? Thanks.

I kind of doubt that it will be possible to take a 110 and mod it into another knife. You could, perhaps have finger-grooves added to an old knife or a new blade put on, but I don't think it'll be viable to grind the whole knife down in an attempt to make it something it's not (though admittedly, I'm no craftsman). Why not just purchase a knife from the Slimline series?

it is doable.

what you lose are the rivet heads and they all have to be replaced and resqueezed or headed.

Joe can handle that for you...no pun intended...

although it was also good advice to get another knife as the cost of the amount of work required to do this would pay for a whole new knife

Maybe I wasn't explaining myself clearly. I don't want to thin down the entire body of the knife to the size of a Slimline. What I want to do is radius or champfer the edges of the handle by say 3/32" to 1/8" maximum. That shouldn't interfere with the rivet-heads. I did it myself once before years ago on an older 110 Folding Hunter. The problem at the time (and still is) that I don't have the proper power tools for the job. I did all the work with a sanding block, wood rasp, and a couple of mill basterd files. It actually came out fairly well, but it was a ton of work and took forever to do by hand:eek: and believe me, I'm understating the amount of time it took!
