I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a Gen 2 iron mistress from imperial weapons. It's not the most expensive knife but I really think it is my favorite knife. it is very very very good quality especially for the price-( I think they easilly could have got $350 for these.) i would like to get a strip of brass welded to the back of the blade. anyone know of anyone that could do this for me? I would really appreciate any help. thanks alot

So you want to give it that Musso Bowie look, huh? Well, you could check with Lin Rhea http://rheaknives.com/ and see if this is a practical thing to do. It might have a real effect on the heat treatment of the blade.

You're right, if i had brass welded to the back it would probably screw up the heat treatment and make it a soft piece of crap. i was thinking maybe it could be pressed on...???

Probably. You should ask a maker like Lin who has experience making knives with brass backs.
