Randy HHH Damascus steel. Inspired by the name of the pattern ‘Tribal’ so wanted to create something primitive. Copper was first used for knives so used a lot of copper . Complicated procedure to have it come out like this

Sometimes my etchant gets contaminated with copper if I have copper on the steel. Now and then this suspended copper elector plates the steel. I usually sand it off. In this case I left it as it has an interesting effect. Some of the etching blends in with the Damascus pattern and intertwines so it is hard to know one from the other. Many would not know what technique was used to achieve this effect. Have not decided on a handle yet. I often get requests for blank blades for others to use, so this may go out ‘as is’ .
