Folks-

We occasionally need to remember how great Buck Customer service really is. Over the last few months, I've stupdily broken the tip off of three relatively inexpensive knives.

Camillus told me that flicking a boot knife lightly into a fabric covered board was abuse, and not covered by warranty.

Columbia River told me that not only was my point guard not covered by warranty, but the would not even repair it for a fee, or sell me a replacement blade, but I could "Buy a new knife."

Buck not only repaired my 112 Ranger (received back today) at no charge, but cleaned it up to the point where I only suspect it is my original knife, I can't be sure.

That kind of service is well worth our patronage. Spread the word.

Peace,

Al Folsom

I can not agree with you enough! I sent in a
#500 Duke to have the scales tighten, it took a couple of E-mails to prevent them from restoring the knife until I wouldn't be able to recognize it.

Their Customer service is so good they wanted to refurbish/restore the knife! I haven't come across any company with customer service better than Buck. A big THANK YOU to everyone at Buck Knives.

I recently called Buck because the Odyssey I purchased had a very uneven bevel on one side. They told me it should not be like that and to send it back to them for repair or replacement. I told them that I didnt feel that I should have to pay for the return shipping because this knife shouldnt have made it through QC. They told me to send them the bill($6.00). Well I got a brand new knife about a week later. Cool, but heres the kicker. They never sent me the $6.00. Instead they sent me another brand new Odyssey and a Mini-Buck. I looked at the invoice and it said COURTESY FOR SHIPPING CHARGES. Not to shabby eh? They're quite simply the best in the business.

Amen to the comments about Buck service. They are truly the best in the business. I have sent several knives for repair and they either repair/refurbish or replace. I have sent money to cover postage and they have always returned it. Not only is their service great but they also honor the Senior Partner which is awsome IMO.

There is no finer customer service than that given by Buck knives. They put their good name and honor before profit. As Russ said, alot of it is because everything they do has to be approved by their Senior Partner. I have alot of respect for the men with names like Buck,Houser,Taylor, etc. Also, I bet they know that the memo has to occassionally cost them a sale here and there from those with opposing or anti viewpoints, yet they know that it profits a man nothing to gain the world if it costs his soul.
Thank you Buck's(and you too Joe)

Buckaroos?! You actually call them Buckaroos?

Jeesh... Reminds me of when I was a kid, referred to by all as "Bucky Beaver". 'Course, way back in the last ice age when I was a kid, beavers were 8 feet long with big fangs...

Al,
I don't know what would be a worse name, "Bucky Beaver" or Buckaroos! Yes, we actually call us that.

Another competitor datapoint:

I have a Spyderco Catcherman, with a bent tip. I have no idea how this tip got bent, since it is certainly not the kind of knife you would throw or pry with, and the blade is AUS-8. My kids are pretty good about leaving my knives alone, but perhaps...This knife retails for around $40.00.

An inquiry to spyderco got a response that this was not covered by warranty. They would be glad to try to straighten it, but the tip would probably break. At that point, they would reshape it for $10.00.

I love my Spyderco's - I wish Buck made a competitor to the Endura with a lockback and a decent steel, but there is no doubt who takes better care of their customers.

Peace,

Al Folsom

Gotta love that service. I bought a old 560 and wanted the blade to be something different. Talked to Joe and now I am sittin happy with a champane buckcote blade on it. I sent in a lightning for repair at the same time and they took care of it for free!
