I have heard mostly bad things about CS customer service. What would be the best way to deal with a stripped screw? Is it a waste of time to try and contact them to send me a replacement? Should I try and deal with it myself? Thanks for any feedback.
BTW I don't live in the USA if that makes a difference.
 
My experience has been a positive one so far, maybe just lucky but unless your time is super valuable I would at least give it a try. If nothing else you will be able to complain about it on here lol.

I suppose there's no harm in trying. I saw people say calling is better than email. It will be pretty expensive to call internationally though.
 
Despite all the bad press about Cold Steel's CS department, I have always been pleased with the service. They've made mistakes but always made it right. They will send you assembly screws if you CALL. They will not send you any internal parts (pins, lockbar, spring, washers etc.), but will replace the part themselves if you send the knife in. I had a MIA backspacer staking pin on a Mini AK-47. I sent it in disassembled and they replaced the pin, put it back together and shipped it back on their dime.

I did fill in the request form on their website about 2 days ago, should I call them and ask if they received my order or do I re do the order over the phone (ask for the specific parts and give my shipping information) ?
 
I love their knives, their cs is not good in my experience..no replacement clip that was requested(their clips are very tight,I tried bending it out and broke it), sent in a knife to replace the lock back mechanism with offer to pay,no go ! returned the knife exactly as sent but in an oversized box and packaging that cost probably as much as the requested part

If you watch their videos I'm sure you will conclude that any amount of negative press does not intimidate them,anytime or anyplace,they have the strongest lock in the business,they make a 12" pocket knife and that's closed,do really think they lose sleep about our opinions..Thanks for helping me get this off my chest

Hahaha, well I guess I will call and if nothing happens try to solve the problem myself..
 
I've had a few experiences with their CS. 2 of the 3 were positive. Once I called for replacement washers because I lost one during disassembly. Woman was very friendly but part never came.
 
Okay I called yesterday and when I asked for replacement screws the guy said I should fill out the request on the website. I told him I did but I heard calling was a better option. He asked for my email address and when I gave it to him he asked if it was ordered yesterday (2 days ago) .I said yes and he told me that request was confirmed and it won't be a problem
