Rob Simonich has asked me to post the fact that he has unfortunately experienced a catastrophic computer failure.

All hard disk data has been irrevocably lost.

NOT affected are his outstanding order records. Again, if you have an order with Rob, you're just fine, be it a custom knife or Talonite bar stock. Rob maintains hard copy on all orders and deliveries will be unaffected.

What he has lost that impacts readers of this post are all his e-mail records. Accordingly, if you have outstanding, unanswered e-mail, he requests that you give him at least three (3) days to get replacement hardware on-line, then re-send your e-mail and he will respond as soon as possible.

Please do not call to ask for voice responses to unanswered e-mail.

Rob asks your indulgence while he gets his system back up and running.

I thought I would find here news like There are some extra Cetans for immediate delivery or something similar. I hope Rob will retrieve the lost data somehow. I wish him good luck.

In case the order records ever do get wiped out Rob, I can confirm that mine was the next Cetan on your list.

Hope you get everything up and running soon!

Life has been more simple for me since I discovered Zip drives. I store and work off zip drives exclusively. Backup is simple. Copy the disk. Internal Zip drives are extremely fast (much faster than external), but both do a great job. You can also use them for backup storage.

And if you buy now, my stock in the company will go up! (just kidding)

I replied to this thread in the Custom Forum already, btu no-one need worry as Bob said; Rob keeps a book with all his orders neatly entered by hand, so you're orders are safe.
Sorry Spidey

Guys,

Actually Rob lost more than his hard drive... the monitor has gone nuts and he can't get to his BIOS effectively even with an "emergency" disk. I suggested molten lead to make it into a nice boat anchor. He was looking at a whole new system.

Lead would make it a good anchor, but why not use the monitor for a fishtank

IM BAAAACCCKKKK! Hi guys, I had to get me a new computer, it was time to upgrade anyway. My problem was NOT Y2K related, but due to a game I installed of all things!

Thanks to Bob Allman for posting that I would be off line for a few days, and thanks for all the advice over the phone!

The rest of you guys dissapoint me somewhat, I figured you would take way more advantage of the situation!

Of course Mike Turber gave me a bit of a start there,

BTW, did you test that A-2 knife I sent, or have you been laying around watching football? ha ha Thanks for the support guys!
